I believe my purpose is deeply rooted in learning to love through indifference and misunderstanding. Literally. Pushing past all the stop signs, ignoring all warnings and committing to the process of being vulnerable. Yes! Vulnerable. Love doesn’t exist without vulnerability. Love involves every participant’s willingness to be completely unarmed and exposed to all possibilities. Even if those possibilities are hurtful and uncomfortable. There is no filter for the unwavering. We cant sift out the shards and jaggedness so that we can get straight to the smooth sailing. It doesn’t work that way. The universe demands appreciation. In order to appreciate something, you have to experience its absence. To appreciate love you have to know its capabilities—the dangers and the joys.
